Bookmarks & Breadsticks LLC cordially invites you to apply as our first Seasonal Hybrid Marketing Assistant (HYBRID)! This is a great role for a current marketing student or a recent graduate.

 

Bookmarks & Breadsticks LLC is a small woman-owned business based in North Tonawanda. We specialize in creating culinary adventures with our Read It & Eat™ book box subscription program. We’re on a mission to curate culinary adventures with our book boxes, all while fighting hunger in Western New York. A portion of our proceeds is donated to non-profits in the area that focus on fighting food scarcity. Books and food? What could be better?! Read books, eat snacks, and fight hunger. 

 

With the support of the New York State Seed Grant, we can hire our first part-time marketing assistant. We are excited to expand our team locally and continue to invest in fighting hunger in Western New York. This is an opportunity to learn in an entrepreneurial environment and wear multiple hats. Workplace Expectations

We are seeking to hire an experienced Marketing Assistant to help us keep growing. This is a remote/hybrid role, part-time, 10 hours a week, approximately 13 weeks. 

 

The salary for this role is $14 - $16/hr based on experience.

 

While the role is mainly remote, in-person meetings occasionally happen on Fridays. This individual must have Friday afternoons free for these in-person meetings or weekly Zoom calls, while the rest of their time can be largely self-managed.

 

This Marketing Assistant will be heavily involved in helping us launch our Read It & Eat Book Fair scheduled for Saturday, April 29th and is expected to work the event duration. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Help organize and coordinate marketing for our Read It & Eat Book Fair, including press releases, partnership blog posts, sponsorship material, and create/design merchandise.

  • Write and edit content for platforms such as social media, our weekly newsletter, monthly blog posts, and press releases.

  • Shoot, Edit, and create video content for social media channels (IG Reels, TikTok, Youtube Shorts)

  • Provide administrative and project support for a variety of marketing programs

  • Evaluate data and create reports on key metrics to monitor campaign efficiency and analyze trends

  • Support the marketing team with planning, implementing, and monitoring marketing campaigns

  • Assist with the production of marketing materials and collateral

 

Qualifications 

  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field preferred with 1-2 years experience OR; A current student working towards a Bachelor’s Degree with relevant experience (internships count) 

  • Reliable access to the internet + video technology for video team meetings

  • Knowledge of relevant marketing tools such as Buffer (social media scheduling), Canva (graphic design tools), Adobe Photoshop, and other relevant applications is a plus

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Superior organizational and time management skills
